The good times is gonna end in few days! Our current first citizen of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is going to get down from his office on 25th July. And I'm very sad that India is losing a great visionary leader and it is pretty clear from the current presidential elections that it will take some years to see such a dynamic, charismatic and phlegmatic personality.
Times before Dr. Kalam took office, from what I perceive, the President of India is the one who lives in Rashtrapati Bhavan, signs of some documents and more importantly the one who gives a talk on Doordhasan television during the Independence/Republic day. Dr. Kalam has given a new perspective to this esteemed position. I have never seen a President of India stepping out from Rashtrapati Bhavan and meeting people and discussing their problems, meeting students and giving them encouraging talks and even meeting industrialists. His simple mantra "dream!" has made Indians to think big. He even has a big vision/dream to make India a full-fledged developed nation by 2020.
It always feels good when you are led by such an energetic person. Even though it is sad that Dr. Kalam is going to step down from the post of President, it feels so good that he going to return to Anna University back as a professor/researcher. Currently it is a big question on how far Ms. Prathiba Patil is going to execute her prerogatives.
.. and finally to the motive of this post, a great salutation to Dr. Kalam for his great deeds towards the development of India.

Exactly, every Indian have a unity in love for him even their diversity. Out of the last 24 presidents he is the most encouraging for the children.
I like most bocz he keep on insisting India will going to be a Developed nation and asking everyone to work for it.
The fun is every people wanted him to be the president(various surveys conveyed it),but the people(mps, mlas who are selected by people) don't want him to be next president.
Good thing is now he can be more free to mingle with the students.
Exactly. Our representatives doesn't reflect/respect our thoughts. To put in straight, they don't represent people, which they should be doing :(
I personally like kalam. But being as a President , he was a mere rubber stamp. His meeting with the students and common people shows his simplicity and wen does his vision turns into a mission.By being a president , he could have done some thing again its not gonna happen for he wouldnt be given that kind of freedom.
I dont find any significant thing he did by being a president.
I'm happy that he got away from the post so that he can share his knowledge with many more and can spend quality time in science and stuffs.
Long live KAALAM!!!

Somehow, I cant digest this :) I don't think Indian Presidents have that much power to make strategic changes or so. They don't/can't sit and devise plans as when compared to its counterparts in US (for example). They can only accept or deny things which are being planned by Ministers of India. I think he did a fare job in that. Apart from this normal role, he took extra effort to spend time with bourgeois and rustic people and most importantly the younger generations of India. To put it simple, he gave the energy to grow!
